Characters

Madeline Mayday: Undead matriarch of the downtrodden and all around cool girl. Madeline was an average person who suffered a terrible fate that left her dead and disfigured. She quickly learned there were fates worse than death when she was forcibly resurrected by evil bill collectors in order to pay off her outrageous credit card debt. She attempted to hold down several jobs but was always let go for reasons related to being an abominable reanimated corpse. She eventually ended up becoming self employed, as a bounty hunting mercenary. She lacked any skills someone in that field would need but was unkillable and indestructible so she would eventually get the job done. Due to her unskilled and messy nature she would charge next to nothing for her services, and was often only sent on suicide missions. After performing enough feats and making a name for herself she found that she had become somewhat of a folk hero for the people of district zero, using her newfound notoriety she decided to start her own gang of misfits in the hope of carving out a little piece of the world for herself and her people.

The Meddlers: The Meddlers are Maddie's gang. Unlike most other gangs which have a theme and a strict code of operations, the meddlers are people of all different walks of life. The meddlers primary goal is upsetting the balance of the world and defying expectations. Their biggest strength being that they're often underestimated and seen as a joke. They typically are seen wearing the striped prison garb of the banished and a signature bandana.

Maximilian Maxmore, Presidential Overlord: During the cataclysm that destroyed the original Earth, all of the most powerful and intelligent people worked together to create the most powerful leader they could collectively imagine in order to usher mankind into a new golden age and lead them through the dark times to come following the apocalypse. Genetically engineered to be perfect in every way, Maxmore has super strength, sick abs, the power of flight, and an IQ of 10 billion. Using the brainwaves of every dead president and all of the world's most successful CEOs they compiled what would be the foundation of Maxmore's personality. Maxmore has been mankind's eternal president for countless generations. He is the big boss of Earth-2 and all of its inhabitants and an intergalactic conqueror as well. His moving speeches about truth, justice, and corporate synergy are powerful enough to subjugate the masses of almost any planet he decides to conquer. The planets that don't bow down to his supremacy are reduced to atoms by the massive beam cannon that's fired from the top of his Abe Lincoln-esque top hat.

Scythia, Eternal Cheer Captain: In life she was the cheer captain for the Highfive City Valkyries, a football team who’s memory has long since been forgotten due to the passage of time. Legend has it that when she died her team spirit was so impossibly strong that her soul refused to move on. She serves the role of this world's grim reaper, ushering souls of the recently deceased into the afterlife with an enthusiastic “Yaaaaaaaaay! You did it!” She is also known to appear to people who are on the precipice of death, cheering them on to die. If you’ve ever stared over the edge of bottomless chasm and felt the urge to throw yourself into the abyss, it was most likely because Scythia was cheering you on, “You can do it!”. She is often pulling strings behind the scenes, pushing people towards events that will result in more souls to cross over into her realm. She has an unrequited crush on Madeline due to the fact that she causes so much death and slaughter and the fact that she can’t die, making her forbidden fruit to the cheerful grim reaper. Madeline sees her quite often due to her reckless nature, but thinks she’s annoying and that her pom-poms are stupid.

Battle Nurses: The order of battle nurses are both feared and revered throughout the land. After the illegalization of Healthcare a hard-core sect of medical practitioners decided to continue administering care to those who needed it outside of the law. Due to their fugitive nature they have to be constantly on the move in order to avoid being destroyed by those who stand to profit from the premature deaths of the masses. As such, they operate from a constantly moving airship that never lands, deploying wingpack equipped nurses wielding syringe guns and similarly steampunk medical devices, this ragtag group of rebel health practitioners can hurt as much as they can heal.

Gogorgamesh and The Merrymakers: Pronounced like “Go-gora-mesh”, is an ancient demon that’s existed since before the beginning of time. Unfortunately demons no longer have the authority and respect they once commanded, so upon emerging from the bowels of hell in order to corrupt the souls of humankind he was met with a pretty lukewarm reception. The only humans willing to worship and serve Gogoramesh were nerds with a special interest in fantasy based table-top games who wanted to pledge themselves to a higher power in order to roleplay their characters FOR REAL. Gogoramesh somewhat resents his embarrassing followers but imbues them with unholy powers all the same, seeing them as a means to an end. His followers are normally known by their exaggerated and inaccurate medieval speech (“Hark! Dost I hearest a woesome intruder in thine halls?”) and renaissance cosplay. Do not underestimate them though, with the power granted to them by Gogoramesh they are every bit as powerful as their character sheets would lead you to believe, with knights that can cleave cars in two, wizards that can conjure real fire and lightning, and thieves that can become one with the shadows. Often the only way to foil them is to play along with their fantastical delusions or convince them that they are breaking the rules. Gogoramesh is desperate to recruit anyone over to his side that isn't an insufferable nerd but to his dismay anyone who's half tempted to sell their soul is turned away once they see the company he keeps.

The Binary Boys: A traveling band of brothers consisting of two very outdated robots who were previously animatronic mascots for a Mexican themed restaurant. Despite not being taken too seriously by the denizens of the world, they are the two oldest beings in existence, and keepers of eons worth of history and lore. Unfortunately, they can only speak of these old stories in the form of often underappreciated mariachi song numbers. The two brothers look the same but have distinct personalities. Juan is the older and more responsible of the two brothers, although he has a severe addiction to oil and will often get the two into trouble in his quest to keep himself well lubricated. Ocho, better known as “O”, is the lazy and somewhat less bright brother, but he has a good heart unit. Ocho is the Spanish word for eight and if asked about it he will explain that his great great great great great grandmother was a hexadecimal calculator. These two are often found in bars and other shady parts of the different districts, playing music in exchange for credits and oil.

Earth-2: The planet where everything happens. It is quite massive and completely covered in highly dense industrial and urban developments. One colossal mega-city with countless numbered districts separated by large unscalable walls. The higher numbered districts have free access to all districts with lower numbers and are therefore more exclusive and able to more easily consolidate power and resources. There are no laws nor an official government body which has led to the development of various gangs who typically rule over whatever district they are based in. The leaders of said gangs gather once a year in a ceremonial tribunal where they all attempt to impress the big boss who's powerful enough to rule the entire planet, the district numbers are typically raised or lowered based on how things go at this tribunal. Everything is centered around trying to gain power and sabotage your enemies in order to see your yearly scheme come to fruition and raise your number and status.

District-0: District zero is the lowest and least respected of all the districts. It's had all of its natural resources stripped by other districts and it's mostly used as a dumping ground for garbage. Maddie and the Meddlers have recently made this district their base of operations and have started to develop what used to be a dump into a home. Outcasts, criminals, and others who are deemed undesirable are stripped of their district number and banished to district zero, making it the most dangerous yet diverse place on the planet.

The Earthen apocalypse: "We are going to a new Earth, a better Earth, an Earth where children of all shapes and sizes can become brand representatives of our glorious corporate family!" -Maxmillion Maxmore upon the destruction of Earth

The cause of the apocalypse has been lost to history. Once there was no doubt that life on the original earth would no longer be sustainable a small number of the worlds most powerful people escaped onto a space station. Through the leadership of President Maxmore they were able to eventually keep the remnants of humankind alive long enough to find a new planet to call home, where seeds of a new civilization could be planted.

The Tribunal: The Tribunal is a yearly meeting of gang leaders where each leader is expected to show the results of what they’ve done to make the world a cooler and more profitable place. It is the only time the leader of the planet descends from their omni-palace in order to give speeches and pass judgment down on the various leaders and warlords in attendance. The results of the tribunal determine the power rankings of the leaders as well as the prestige and class of the districts they represent. Most of the culture of the planet revolves around performing well at the tribunal and enacting the most over the top scheme in order to impress the supreme overlord
